The Bola CE 50G is a 50mm wide-platform T1000 carbon gravel disc wheelset on a DT Swiss 36T hub with foil carbon spokes, 1300g, for aero gravel and road speed.

The wide aero gravel blade: 50mm, 1300g, DT Swiss. The Bola CE 50G pairs a 50mm T1000 rim (34-38mm external, 28-32mm internal) with a DT Swiss 36T ratchet hub and foil carbon spokes — the deep-aero option in the CE gravel range for riders who want aero speed on wide gravel tires.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 28mm: 32c at 70-85 PSI for road.

Internal width - 30mm: 38-45c at 40-55 PSI for mixed gravel.

Internal width - 32mm: 40-50c at 30-45 PSI for aero gravel racing.

Max rider weight: rated to 110kg - check rider plus frame clearance for the wide bed.

Same-depth series: the EXP 50G (~$999) keeps a DT Swiss 240s hub and the PRO 50G (~$999) goes ceramic lighter; the CE 50G sits between with foil carbon spokes.

Adjacent depth: the CE 35G below climbs easier - choose the 50G for aero on straight gravel, the 35G for elevation.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Disc-brake road and gravel frames, 12x100/12x142 or QR.

Max system weight 110kg.

The 28-32mm internal bed demands frame clearance for 68c tires.

Not for heavy off-road or rough terrain beyond mixed surfaces.

The Ride That Awaits.

Straighten the gravel road and the rim wakes up - holding speed where shallower wheels fade, wide rubber softening the ruts the moment you relax. You surge and it answers; you settle and it glides. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty mean the straight stretches are yours to chase.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: A 50mm depth on a wide 34–38mm rim saves about 5.0W versus a 40mm gravel rim at 40km/h; at 10° yaw on exposed gravel roads the broad rim pushes more, so calmer handling costs about 1.5W if you step down to the 45R.
Weight vs Stiffness: 1300g (±30g) with T1000 carbon and foil carbon spokes — about 30g more than the 40R due to the wider gravel rim, lateral stiffness within 4%.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The wide 28/30/32mm internal beds are built for volume: 40–50c gravel at 30–45 PSI, or 32c road at 70–85 PSI on the 28mm bed; hookless-rated tires cap around 72 PSI.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock build ships in 1–3 business days at $1111; custom width or decal adds 7–15 business days.
Config Ladder: A DT Swiss 36T ratchet (10° engagement) with steel bearings is standard; a ceramic upgrade saves about 1.5W friction for roughly +$120. Foil carbon spokes are fitted; the wide gravel profile is fixed — the narrower road rims are the 40R and 45R.

Recommended Use Cases
Gravel Racing: Fastest-growing US/EU segment — NA holds ≈40% of the global gravel market (2026); Unbound-style endurance events reward wide 28/30/32mm beds with 35-50mm tubeless at 35-50 PSI.
Mixed-Surface Adventure: Eurobike 2026 trend toward all-road and 32er builds; this 50mm gravel platform transitions from tarmac to dirt without swapping wheels.
Bikepacking / Expedition: Eurobike/Cyclingworld Europe 2026 highlights bikepacking integration; wide beds carry 40-50mm tyres at low pressure for loaded comfort on rough routes.

FAQ
Will this wheelset bolt straight onto my Shimano groupset?
A Shimano HG freehub is fitted, so an HG cassette mounts directly; note at checkout if you run SRAM XD/XDR and we will fit the matching body.
Can a damaged carbon spoke be replaced at a local bike shop?
Yes. The spokes use a mechanical two-piece lock-up design (not bonded one-piece), and spare carbon spokes ship free with the wheelset. Any shop mechanic with a standard truing stand can swap a single spoke in about 10 minutes — no factory return needed.
Will carbon spokes snap suddenly in crosswinds or under lateral load?
Carbon spokes deliver ~3,800N tensile strength (above the ~3,000N of top steel spokes) with ~30% higher lateral stiffness. Potholes, hard efforts out of the saddle and everyday riding carry no metal-fatigue fracture risk.
If the wheel is badly damaged in extreme riding, am I covered?
Yes — beyond the 2-year factory warranty, you get lifetime 30% Crash Replacement: a discounted replacement wheel without paying full price.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
