The Bola EXP 35G is a 35mm wide-platform T1000 carbon gravel disc wheelset on DT Swiss 240s hubs with CX-Ray spokes, 1250g, for mixed-surface endurance.

The wide-bodied gravel climber: 35mm, 1250g, DT Swiss. The Bola EXP 35G wraps a 35mm T1000 rim (30-36mm external, 24-30mm internal) around DT Swiss 240s hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes, pairing trusted ratchet internals with a wide platform for modern 35-48c tires.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 24mm: 28c at 80-90 PSI for tarmac sectors.

Internal width - 30mm: 35-48c at 40-50 PSI for gravel and washboard.

Max rider weight: rated to 105kg - the lowest in EXP; heavier riders should consider the EXP 50R or 50G.

Same-depth series: the CE 35G (~$1111) adds foil carbon spokes and the EXT 35G (~$1111) goes ultralight with ceramic bearings; the EXP 35G keeps a genuine DT Swiss 240s.

Adjacent depth: the EXP 50G above adds aero on fast gravel roads - choose the 35G for elevation, the 50G for flat-out speed.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Disc-brake gravel and road frames, 12x100/12x142 or QR.

Max system weight 105kg (the lowest in EXP); heavier riders should consider EXP 50R/50G (120kg).

Not for extreme downhill or heavy loaded touring.

The Ride That Awaits.

Tarmac to fire road, the wheel asks nothing of you - wide tubeless rubber floats over washboard, the DT Swiss hub clicks clean through every pedal stroke, the shallow rim climbs when it must. You arrive at the trailhead feeling like you started there. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty mean go this weekend.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: A 35mm gravel rim sits near the drag sweet spot around 10 deg yaw: it costs only about 1.0W more than a shallow 28mm rim at 40km/h but stays predictable on exposed gravel; stepping up to the 50G adds roughly 2.5W of aero gain at the price of noticeably more steering effort in crosswinds.
Weight vs Stiffness: At 1250g with a T1000 layup, this set sits about 100g below a typical 35mm gravel build (plus or minus 5g) while lateral stiffness holds within 3%; the trade-off is a softer rear feel on sharp gravel accelerations.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bed runs tubeless from 28c up to 62c; hookless-rated tyres cap around 72 PSI, so choosing the 30mm internal channel trades about 10 PSI of max pressure for wider 40-50c gravel volume and lower rolling resistance.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock build ships in 1-3 business days at $999; a custom width channel or decals adds 7-15 business days and roughly a $100-150 premium, which is the main cost of a personalised gravel set.
Config Ladder: Swapping steel CX-Ray spokes for hyper carbon (EXT spec) saves about 160g for roughly +$110 and adds about 5 days to build time; ceramic bearings are already fitted, and the 36T ratchet (about 10 deg) can be upgraded to a 54T ratchet for quicker about 6.7 deg pickup.

Recommended Use Cases
Gravel Racing: Fastest-growing US/EU segment — NA holds ≈40% of the global gravel market (2026); Unbound-style endurance events reward wide 24/30mm beds with 35-50mm tubeless at 35-50 PSI.
Mixed-Surface Adventure: Eurobike 2026 trend toward all-road and 32er builds; this 35mm gravel platform transitions from tarmac to dirt without swapping wheels.
Bikepacking / Expedition: Eurobike/Cyclingworld Europe 2026 highlights bikepacking integration; wide beds carry 40-50mm tyres at low pressure for loaded comfort on rough routes.

FAQ
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The rim bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >60J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 24/30mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
If the wheel is badly damaged in extreme riding, am I covered?
Yes - beyond the 2-year factory warranty, you get lifetime 30% Crash Replacement: a discounted replacement wheel without paying full price.
Are ceramic bearings durable in rain or rough conditions - do they need frequent service?
The bearings use dual-lip contact labyrinth dust/water seals. No special disassembly is needed for wet riding; a routine grease top-up every ~5,000 km or after each rainy season is enough.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 24mm internal bed run 28c road at 80-90 PSI; on the 30mm bed run 35-48c gravel at 30-45 PSI. The bed accepts 28-62c.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP - duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
