The Bola EXP 50G is a 50mm T1000 carbon aero gravel disc wheelset on DT Swiss 240s hubs with CX-Ray spokes, for proven serviceability and wide gravel tire support.

Proven hubs, wide rim, 50mm aero: the Bola EXP 50G pairs a 50mm T1000 rim (32-36mm external, 26-30mm internal) with genuine DT Swiss 240s hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes. At 1350g it trades a little weight for the legendary serviceability and durability of DT Swiss ratchet internals.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 26mm: 28-32c at 70-80 PSI for road sectors.

Internal width - 28mm: 32-40c at 55-70 PSI for all-road.

Internal width - 30mm: 40-50c at 40-50 PSI for rough gravel.

Max rider weight: rated to 120kg - the highest in EXP, suiting heavier riders and light loads.

Same-depth series: the PRO 50G (~$999) is lighter with ceramic bearings; the EXP 50G trades grams for a genuine, globally serviceable DT Swiss 240s hub.

Adjacent depth: the EXP 50R is the narrow road-rim twin - choose the 50G for wide gravel rubber, the 50R for tarmac.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Disc-brake road and gravel frames, 12x100/12x142 or QR.

Max system weight 120kg (the highest in the EXP range, suitable for heavier riders).

Not for heavy off-road or severe gravel.

The Ride That Awaits.

Roll away and the DT Swiss hub clicks out thirty-six promises of miles, each one a quiet guarantee the wheel will still be running when you are. The fast gravel road holds its speed; the rough cut-through softens under wide tubeless rubber. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty mean order now and ride this season.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 50mm gravel rim saves about 4.5W versus a 35mm gravel rim at 40km/h and 10 deg yaw, but on exposed gravel the deep section demands more steering effort; the 35G trades about 2.5W for calmer crosswind control.
Weight vs Stiffness: At 1350g the wide 26-30mm internal bed adds about 100g versus the narrow 50R (plus or minus 5g), while lateral stiffness stays within 3% and the wider tyre volume smooths rough roads.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The 26/28/30mm internal channels run 28c road to 50c gravel; on 26mm run 28-32c at 70-80 PSI, on 30mm run 40-50c at 40-50 PSI, tubeless recommended for low pressure.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock ships in 1-3 business days at $999; custom width or decals add 7-15 business days and about a $100-150 premium.
Config Ladder: Hyper carbon spokes (EXT spec) save about 260g for roughly +$110 and add about 5 days; ceramic bearings are already fitted, and the 36T ratchet (about 10 deg) can be stepped to a 54T ratchet (about 6.7 deg).

Recommended Use Cases
Gravel Racing: Fastest-growing US/EU segment — NA holds ≈40% of the global gravel market (2026); Unbound-style endurance events reward wide 26/28/30mm beds with 35-50mm tubeless at 35-50 PSI.
Mixed-Surface Adventure: Eurobike 2026 trend toward all-road and 32er builds; this 50mm gravel platform transitions from tarmac to dirt without swapping wheels.
Bikepacking / Expedition: Eurobike/Cyclingworld Europe 2026 highlights bikepacking integration; wide beds carry 40-50mm tyres at low pressure for loaded comfort on rough routes.

FAQ
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The rim bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >60J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 26/28/30mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
If the wheel is badly damaged in extreme riding, am I covered?
Yes - beyond the 2-year factory warranty, you get lifetime 30% Crash Replacement: a discounted replacement wheel without paying full price.
How does this 50mm deep rim handle crosswinds on fast descents?
An optimised 50mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 26mm bed run 28-32c road at 70-80 PSI; on the 30mm bed run 40-50c gravel at 40-50 PSI. Tubeless recommended for lower pressures.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP - duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
