The Bola PRM 50R is a 50mm T1000 UD carbon disc wheelset with blade carbon spokes and a 54T ratchet hub, ~1240g, for road and gravel all-round performance.

A worthy steed for road and gravel alike: the Bola PRM 50R pairs a 50mm mid-depth T1000 rim with straight-pull blade carbon spokes and a BL350 54T ratchet hub. At a featherweight 1240g per set, it strips rotational mass while retaining the aerodynamic poise and tire width options endurance riders and fast gravel explorers demand.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 21mm: 28-32c at 70-85 PSI for smooth tarmac.

Internal width - 24mm: 32-40c at 55-70 PSI for all-road.

Internal width - 26mm: 40-48c at 30-40 PSI for gravel.

Max rider weight: rated to 120kg - check rider plus gear.

Same-depth series: the PRO 50R (~$999) upgrades to a ceramic BL240 hub and the EXP 50R (~$999) to a DT Swiss 240s hub; the PRM 50R is the value aero pick at this depth.

Adjacent depth: the PRM 60R above pushes aero further on flats - choose the 50R for versatility, the 60R for pure TT speed.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Disc-brake road and gravel frames only.

Max system weight 120kg; freehub body selection required at checkout.

Not compatible with rim-brake bikes, heavy off-road or mountain biking.

Carbon rims demand care against impacts.

The Ride That Awaits.

The early-morning paceline bends around you - every acceleration matched, every surge absorbed and returned, the blade spokes spinning up as if weightless. Drop onto the gravel cut-through and the wide bed swallows the rough before it reaches your hands. Free shipping worldwide and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty make today the day to order.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 50mm profile saves about 4.5W versus a 35mm rim at 40km/h; at 10° yaw crosswind pull is moderate, and the 45R gives up about 1.5W of aero for noticeably calmer handling.
Weight vs Stiffness: T1000 with blade carbon spokes lands at 1240g, about 120g lighter than a steel-spoke 50mm disc build (±5g), lateral stiffness within 3%; the Enduro steel bearings are durable but add about 1.5W of friction over ceramic.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bed accepts clincher and tubeless from 28c to 50c; the 21/24/26mm internal options favour 28–32c road at 70–85 PSI, and hookless-rated tyres cap around 72 PSI.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock builds ship in 1–3 business days at $888; custom decals or lacing add 7–15 business days and roughly a $100–150 premium.
Config Ladder: Moving from the Enduro steel to ceramic bearings cuts about 1.5W of hub friction for roughly +$120 (the PRO 50R step-up); widening the internal bed from 21 to 26mm adds gravel volume for about +5g.

Recommended Use Cases
Triathlon / Time Trial: IM and club TT fields reward deep-section aero; 50mm profile minimises drag on flat-to-rolling courses where aero dominates climbing.
Aero Road Racing: Fast flat road races and crits on disc frames; 2026 WorldTour teams run 28-30mm tubeless — pair the inner bed accordingly for rolling speed.
Race-Pace Training: Open, fast courses where holding aero position pays off; stable crosswind handling builds confidence before race day.
Compatibility
Brake Standard: Disc brake, Center Lock rotor (140/160mm)
Axle: Front 12x100mm thru-axle; Rear 12x142mm thru-axle (QR with adapters)
Freehub: Shimano HG / SRAM XDR (select at checkout)
Tire: Tubeless-ready clincher, 25-50mm
Frame: 700C road / gravel disc frame (not rim-brake)

FAQ
Can a damaged carbon spoke be replaced at a local bike shop?
Yes. The spokes use a mechanical two-piece lock-up design (not a bonded one-piece), and spare carbon spokes ship free with the wheelset. Any shop mechanic with a standard truing stand can swap a single spoke in about 10 minutes - no factory return needed.
Will carbon spokes snap suddenly in crosswinds or under lateral load?
Carbon spokes deliver ~3,800N tensile strength (above the ~3,000N of top steel spokes) with ~30% higher lateral stiffness. Potholes, sprinting out of the saddle and everyday riding carry no metal-fatigue fracture risk.
How does this 50mm deep rim handle crosswinds on fast descents?
An optimised 50mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 21mm bed run 28c road at 70-85 PSI; on the 24-26mm bed run gravel at 30-40 PSI. Tubeless recommended for lower pressures. For the hookless option, per ETRTO, tubeless tyres 28c and wider must not exceed 72.5 PSI (5.0 bar) to prevent unseating.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP - duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
