The Bola SL 45G is a 45mm T1000 UD carbon gravel disc wheelset on proven DT Swiss 350 hubs, built for mixed-surface gran fondos and all-road adventure.

Where lesser wheels falter on rutted gravel, the Bola SL 45G stands firm — a trusty steed for the rider who refuses to choose between tarmac and dirt. Built around proven DT Swiss 350 hubs, it carries one wheelset across asphalt, forest doubletrack and back-country gravel roads.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 30mm: 38-45c gravel at 40-55 PSI tubeless for rough gravel and forest doubletrack; drop to 32-35c at 55-70 PSI for smooth all-road tarmac.

Max rider weight: rated to 105kg - check rider plus gear before loading up.

Same-depth series: among 45mm mixed-surface wheels the ULT 45G (~$698) swaps in-house ceramic hubs and the ELT 450W (~$579) sits entry; the SL 45G trades both for field-serviceable DT Swiss internals.

Adjacent depth: the SL 35G climbs more easily on steep gravel pushes - choose the 45G for aero on fast gravel roads, the 35G when elevation dominates.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

For gravel racers, all-road enthusiasts and light-load bikepackers who value DT Swiss field-serviceability.

Max system weight 105kg; verify 48mm tire clearance.

Not for heavily laden expedition bikepacking, DH/enduro or jump lines.

Disc frames only.

The Ride That Awaits.

You roll out onto the gravel at dawn and the rim settles your 40c tire like a promise - rutted doubletrack that once wore you down now flows beneath you. Stand on the pedals and the proven hub answers without a murmur; the climb gives, the flat glides, the tarmac rewards. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty mean the only risk left is waiting another season.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 45mm depth saves about 3.0W versus a 30mm gravel rim at 40km/h; at 10 degrees of yaw the 36mm-wide gravel profile stays manageable but feels the side gusts on exposed rides.
Weight vs Stiffness: The T1000 layup saves about 40g versus a T800 build at the same 45mm depth (plus or minus 5g); lateral stiffness stays within 4% and the 30mm internal bed trades a little vertical snap for tyre volume.
Tire-Type Trade-off: Tubeless clincher lets you run 38-45c tyres at low pressure for traction and pinch-flat resistance, but the sealant needs topping up every 3-6 months and roadside flats rely on a plug.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Standard stock ships in 1-3 business days while a custom width build takes 7-15; at about $789 the DT Swiss 350 build is roughly half the price of a Zipp or DT gravel set near $1,900-2,300.
Config Ladder: DT Swiss 350 with a 36T steel ratchet is standard; moving to the in-house BL ceramic-hub ULT build cuts about 1.5W of friction for about $90 less; Sapim CX-Ray spokes stay fixed at 24/24 2-cross.

Recommended Use Cases
Gravel Racing: Fastest-growing US/EU segment — NA holds ≈40% of the global gravel market (2026); Unbound-style endurance events reward wide 30mm beds with 35-50mm tubeless at 35-50 PSI.
Mixed-Surface Adventure: Eurobike 2026 trend toward all-road and 32er builds; this 45mm gravel platform transitions from tarmac to dirt without swapping wheels.
Bikepacking / Expedition: Eurobike/Cyclingworld Europe 2026 highlights bikepacking integration; wide beds carry 40-50mm tyres at low pressure for loaded comfort on rough routes.
Compatibility
Brake Standard: Disc brake, Center Lock rotor (140/160mm)
Axle: Front 12x100mm thru-axle; Rear 12x142mm thru-axle (QR with adapters)

FAQ
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The rim bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >60J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 30mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
If the wheel is badly damaged in extreme riding, am I covered?
Yes - beyond the 2-year factory warranty, you get lifetime 30% Crash Replacement: a discounted replacement wheel without paying full price.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 30mm bed run 38-45c gravel at 40-55 PSI tubeless; on smooth all-road run 32-35c at 55-70 PSI.
How does this 45mm deep rim handle crosswinds on fast descents?
An optimised 45mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP - duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
