Aero vs Crosswind: The 30–180mm depth range lets you scale aero against stability: a 180mm section saves roughly 15.0W over a 30mm rim at 40km/h on a flat time trial, but above about 60mm depth the crosswind steering load grows sharply at 10° yaw.
Weight vs Stiffness: The T1000 layup saves about 100–150g per rim versus a T700 layup at the same depth (±5g) at a higher unit cost; T800 sits in the middle for weight and price, while lateral stiffness stays in the same carbon envelope.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bead covers a wide 18–35mm internal width for clincher and tubeless tires; tubeless lowers rolling resistance and pinch-flat risk but needs tape, valve and sealant to seal the bed.

Can you drill the spoke holes to my own pattern and hole count before shipping?
Yes — as an OEM rim we custom-drill the spoke holes to your chosen pattern and hole count. Just tell us your build spec when you order.
Do I get a bare rim here, or is it built up with a hub and spokes?
It's a bare carbon rim — no hub, spokes or nipples. Take it to any wheel builder to lace it to your own hub; we can also supply a built wheel on request.
What spoke drillings are available, and which brake type is this rim rated for?
Spoke drillings and brake rating depend on the build option, selectable at checkout. If you plan to lace your own wheel, confirm the drilling and brake type with Bola before ordering so the rim matches your hub and frame.
What spoke tension can I safely build to — will the holes pull out of the carbon?
Drive-side / disc-side maximum tension is 130–140 kgf, with the non-drive side adapted to match; the spoke holes are locally reinforced inside the carbon layup to prevent pull-out cracking.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, and delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
