A 23mm profile keeps rotational inertia low while a 32mm inner channel stabilizes 2.3"-2.5" tires. This asymmetric 29er Bola rim is built for XC race efforts and all-mountain days alike.

Weight tier - Superlight ~325g: the Ultralight race build - drops about 60g for XC climbs and acceleration, with a slimmer impact margin.

Weight tier - Standard ~385g: the Light-grade structural-margin build - choose it for all-mountain days where a landed jump matters more than grams.

Tire & terrain: the low-profile channel stabilizes 2.3-2.5" tires - build it for XC race and all-mountain; very narrow or very wide rubber falls outside its sweet spot.

Same-family: this is the lowest-profile wide rim in the 29er line - favour it when climbs and acceleration outrank enduro support; the taller 30mm-profile 30/34mm rims are the trail/enduro choice.

Do I get a bare rim here, or is it built up with a hub and spokes?
It's a bare carbon rim — no hub, spokes or nipples. Take it to any wheel builder to lace it to your own hub; we can also supply a built wheel on request.
What spoke drillings are available, and which brake type is this rim rated for?
Spoke drillings and brake rating depend on the build option, selectable at checkout. If you plan to lace your own wheel, confirm the drilling and brake type with Bola before ordering so the rim matches your hub and frame.
What spoke tension can I safely build to — will the holes pull out of the carbon?
Drive-side / disc-side maximum tension is 130–140 kgf, with the non-drive side adapted to match; the spoke holes are locally reinforced inside the carbon layup to prevent pull-out cracking.
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >60J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 32 mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
