A 60mm V-shaped UCI-certified carbon road rim with 30/24mm widths and tubeless-ready bed for competitive road racing and endurance riding.

Race-Ready Aero, Factory-Direct Price

The BOLA 60mm UCI carbon rim carries speed through flats, descents and sprints. Its V-shaped 60mm profile, 30mm outer and 24mm inner width smooth airflow while supporting modern 27–42mm tubeless road tires.

Buying Guide.

Weight tier - Standard ~515g: the pick for larger riders and rough race days that need impact margin.

Weight tier - Superlight ~490g: the do-everything middle, enough saving without giving up durability.

Weight tier - Ultralight ~460g: for climbers who still want aero flats; choose it only if you ride smooth.

Weight tier - Extreme Light ~440g: the absolute minimum for light, smooth-road racers; the thinnest margin.

Rider weight - rated high, but the lightest tiers want the lightest rider; respect the limit.

Adjacent depth - this is the deep end of the Bola road range; pick a shallower rim for lumpy terrain where a tall section hurts.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

UCI-sanctioned road racers, triathletes on rolling courses, and endurance riders wanting a do-everything aero rim.

Not recommended for steep climbing (choose a 30–40mm rim), off-road, or gravel use.

The Ride That Awaits.

Clip in, roll to the line, and let that V-section slice the wind as you hold the bars steady - the wide bed riding tall under your tires, the stiff layup answering every sprint as if the road had conspired with you. UCI-legal and unflappable, it carries speed over rolling courses like a quiet promise. Three years of warranty and free shipping mean the only thing left to do is race.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: 60mm depth saves about 6.0W versus a 45mm rim at 40km/h, making it the fastest aero choice on flat time trials, but at 10° yaw the deep 60mm section has the strongest crosswind push of the range and needs careful handling on exposed rides.
Weight vs Stiffness: The light tier (about 440g) saves about 75g versus the heavy tier (about 515g) (±5g) at the same 60mm depth; lateral stiffness stays within 3% across tiers, so the lighter build keeps the same rim structure.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bead accepts clincher and tubeless tyres from about 25c to 32c and supports higher pressure than hookless; tubeless cuts rolling resistance but needs tape, valve and sealant to seal the bed.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock drilling ships in 1–3 business days; custom spoke-hole count or decals add 7–15 business days, and the current price is listed in the store.

Recommended Use Cases
Sprinting / Criterium: Excellent. The 60mm depth and stiff construction provide aerodynamic efficiency and responsive acceleration for sprint finishes.
Triathlon / TT: Excellent. The aerodynamic profile reduces drag at high speeds, ideal for time trials and triathlons.
Road Racing: Excellent. UCI certified and designed for competitive road racing, balancing aero and stiffness.
Gran Fondo / Endurance: Good. The tubeless compatibility and wider internal width (24mm) allow lower pressures for comfort over long distances, but the depth may be less forgiving on climbs.
Climbing / Hill Repeats: Not recommended. While the rim is light for its depth (440g minimum), the 60mm profile is not ideal for steep climbs where low weight is prioritized.
Not Recommended For: Off-road, gravel, or rough terrain due to aerodynamic depth and road-specific design.

FAQ
Do I get a bare rim here, or is it built up with a hub and spokes?
It's a bare carbon rim — no hub, spokes or nipples. Take it to any wheel builder to lace it to your own hub; we can also supply a built wheel on request.
What spoke drillings are available, and which brake type is this rim rated for?
Spoke drillings and brake rating depend on the build option, selectable at checkout. If you plan to lace your own wheel, confirm the drilling and brake type with Bola before ordering so the rim matches your hub and frame.
What spoke tension can I safely build to — will the holes pull out of the carbon?
Drive-side / disc-side maximum tension is 130–140 kgf, with the non-drive side adapted to match; the spoke holes are locally reinforced inside the carbon layup to prevent pull-out cracking.
How does a deep aero rim handle crosswinds — will it tug the steering on fast descents?
An optimised aero profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted and controlled.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, and delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
