The Bola 700C 50mm tubeless carbon road/gravel rim - a versatile 32mm external / 26mm internal Toray carbon rim for all-round road and light-gravel builds.

The rider who refuses to choose - aero on the flat, comfort on the rough - finds a friend in the Bola 50mm road/gravel rim. Fifty millimetres of Toray carbon, 32mm external and 26mm internal, sold rim-only as the best aero-to-weight balance in the road range.

Buying Guide.

Weight tier - Extreme Light ~390g: the climber's aero pick - light enough to spin up while keeping 50mm of speed.

Weight tier - Ultralight ~410g: the balanced middle - the sweet spot for most all-round riders.

Weight tier - Superlight ~435g: the sturdy choice - impact margin for mixed road and light gravel.

Weight tier - Standard ~475g: the durable daily build - extra grams shrug off rough surfaces.

Max rider weight: rated to 110kg - check rider + gear before ordering.

Same-depth series: the wide 50mm gravel rim runs big gravel volume; the 50mm offset tubeless balances disc spoke tension.

Adjacent depth: the 40mm road/gravel rim climbs better; the 55mm road rim goes deeper on the flat.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Target audience.: Road racers, gran fondo riders and light-gravel adventurers.

Rim-only.

Seat beads with a compressor; respect 90 psi and 110kg.

Not for aggressive gravel or riders over 110kg.

The Ride That Awaits.

Pair it with a quality hub, run a 32-38c tubeless, and feel the wheel do everything at once: it holds speed on the flat, floats over the rough stuff, and climbs without a sigh. Light enough to dance, deep enough to fly. Free shipping, a 3-year rim warranty and crash-replacement discount - your next build starts with one click.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: 50mm depth saves about 4.5W versus a 35mm rim at 40km/h; at 10° yaw the 32mm outer width keeps steering predictable on exposed descents, at the cost of a stronger crosswind signature than a 40mm rim.
Weight vs Stiffness: The Extreme Light tier (390g) saves about 85g versus the Standard tier (475g) at the same 50mm depth (±5g); lateral stiffness holds within 3% across tiers, so the lightest layup keeps the same rim structure.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bead accepts clincher and tubeless tyres from about 31mm to 48mm on the 26mm internal width; tubeless cuts rolling resistance and pinch-flat risk but needs tape, a valve and sealant to seal the bed.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock drilling ships in 1–3 business days at $340; custom spoke-hole count or decals add 7–15 business days and roughly a $40–80 premium.

Recommended Use Cases
Gravel Racing: Fastest-growing US/EU segment — NA holds ≈40% of the global gravel market (2026); Unbound-style endurance events reward wide 26mm beds with 35-50mm tubeless at 35-50 PSI.
Mixed-Surface Adventure: Eurobike 2026 trend toward all-road and 32er builds; this 50mm gravel platform transitions from tarmac to dirt without swapping wheels.
Bikepacking / Expedition: Eurobike/Cyclingworld Europe 2026 highlights bikepacking integration; wide beds carry 40-50mm tyres at low pressure for loaded comfort on rough routes.
Compatibility

FAQ
What spoke drillings are available, and which brake type is this rim rated for?
Spoke drillings and brake rating depend on the build option, selectable at checkout. If you plan to lace your own wheel, confirm the drilling and brake type with Bola before ordering so the rim matches your hub and frame.
What is the maximum spoke tension for this rim?
Drive-side / disc-side max tension is 130–140 kgf, with the non-drive side adapted to match; spoke holes are locally reinforced inside the carbon layup to prevent pull-out cracking.
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The rim bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >60J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 26mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
What tyres can I mount on this rim, and what pressure should I run?
The 26mm inner width is optimised for tubeless tyres from 31mm to 48mm, with a 28mm minimum — road-plus and light gravel.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
