The Bola ELT 45R 700C Carbon Disc Wheelset - a ~1270g ceramic-bearing 45mm aero road set for endurance, built in Toray T800 unidirectional carbon.

On long training days, mixed-terrain events, or when you need reliable everyday speed, the Bola ELT 45R brings an aero-forward profile and proven materials to the ride. A light ~1270g set built from UD Toray T800 carbon, tubeless-ready and disc-specific, balancing aerodynamics, stiffness, and ride comfort for endurance and gran fondo.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 21mm: run a 28mm tire at 75-90 PSI for smooth tarmac.

Internal width - 24mm: cup a 30-32mm tire at 65-80 PSI for mixed roads and long fondos.

Internal width - 26mm: settle a 35-42mm tire at 55-70 PSI on rough chipseal and light gravel.

Max rider weight: rated to 110kg system - check rider and gear before ordering.

Same-depth series: the CLA 45R is cheaper at $468 with steel bearings, the ULT 45R adds CX-Ray spokes at $698, and the SL 45R moves to DT Swiss 350 at $789 - choose this ELT for the ceramic-bearing sweet spot.

Adjacent depth: the ELT 40R is lighter and calmer in gusts, the ELT 50R deeper for flats - choose this 45R for the balanced middle.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

For endurance riders, gran fondo participants, and daily trainers wanting a light, aero, ceramic-bearing set.

Mild gravel only where clearance allows.

Requires a disc frame; QR or thru-axle fit.

Max system weight 110kg.

The Ride That Awaits.

A four-hour fondo dissolves into rhythm on these wheels - the rim saves you watts on the rolling drag, and the ceramic hub spins as though the bearings themselves would coast a little longer, just to please you. Each long day feels shorter than the last. Free shipping, VAT included, and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset limited warranty with crash-replacement cover mean the comfort is yours from the very first mile.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 45mm depth saves about 3.5W versus a 35mm training wheel at 40km/h and remains manageable at 10° yaw; it is the endurance sweet spot — aero without the nervous steering of a 50–60mm rim on long days in the saddle.
Weight vs Stiffness: T800 carbon hits about 1270g (±5g), roughly 150g lighter than the steel-bearing CLA 45R at the same depth, while lateral stiffness stays within 3% and the ceramic BL200 hub keeps drag low over long distances.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked / hookless bed runs 28–42c tubeless: 21mm bed for 28mm at 75–90 PSI, 24mm for 30–32mm at 65–80 PSI, 26mm for 35–42mm at 55–70 PSI. Wider volumes smooth out long rides at the cost of a little outright speed.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock builds ship in 1–3 business days at $579; a custom width, freehub or QR spec adds 7–15 business days and roughly a $60–100 premium.
Config Ladder: Ceramic bearings and the 54T ratchet (6.7° engagement) are standard; moving to 26mm internal width adds about 30–50g for wider tyres, and stepping up to a 50mm rim adds about 40g and ~1.5W of aero.

Recommended Use Cases
Road Racing: 2026 peloton standard runs 28-30mm tubeless on wide rims (TdF 2026 average ≈30mm); this 45mm section suits 40+ km/h racing and flat-to-rolling stages.
Gran Fondo / Endurance: All-day rides on modern frames designed around 30-32mm tyre clearance (Giant Propel, Cannondale SuperSix, Cervélo S5, 2026); wide 21mm bed pairs 25-32mm tubeless for comfort and speed.
Training & Daily Riding: Mid-depth versatility for group rides and race-pace training; ETRTO 2026 guidance recommends ≥28mm tubeless on 23mm+ inner beds for rolling efficiency.

FAQ
Will this wheelset bolt straight onto my Shimano groupset?
A Shimano HG freehub is fitted, so an HG cassette mounts directly; note at checkout if you run SRAM XD/XDR and we will fit the matching body.
How does the rim handle crosswinds on exposed descents?
An optimised 45mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so the front stays composed on fast exposed road descents.
Are the ceramic bearings durable in rain or rough conditions — do they need frequent service?
The bearings use dual-lip contact labyrinth dust/water seals. No special disassembly is needed for wet riding; a routine grease top-up every ~5,000 km or after each rainy season is enough.
Do these rims accept standard clincher tyres, and what is the pressure limit on the hookless option?
Hooked rims accept standard clincher tyres directly. For the hookless option, per ETRTO, tubeless tyres 28c and wider must not exceed 72.5 PSI (5.0 bar) to prevent unseating.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
