The Bola PRO 50R is a 50mm T1000 UD carbon road-and-gravel disc wheelset with foil carbon spokes and a ceramic BL240 hub, 1230g, for endurance performance.

The endurance blade: 50mm, 1230g, ready for the long day. The Bola PRO 50R marries a 50mm T1000 rim to a BL240 54T hub with ceramic bearings — light enough for repeated surges, steady enough for the longest endurance days, tubeless-ready across 25-50c.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 21mm: 28c at 70-80 PSI for smooth tarmac.

Internal width - 24mm: 28-32c at 65-78 PSI for rolling road.

Internal width - 26mm: 40c at 40-60 PSI for light gravel.

Max rider weight: rated to 110kg - check rider plus gear.

Same-depth series: the PRM 50R (~$888) is the value aero pick below and the EXP 50R (~$999) swaps in a DT Swiss 240s hub; the PRO 50R is the featherweight ceramic middle.

Adjacent depth: in the PRO gravel family the 45G and 40G favor climbing - choose the 50R when endurance aero matters most.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Disc-brake road and gravel frames, 12x100/12x142 thru-axle.

Max system weight 110kg.

Not for heavy off-road or steep hill-repeat specialization.

The Ride That Awaits.

Settle in for the long day and the rim holds its line on the flats, the ceramic hub whispering while your legs still have something left at the finish. Hours in the saddle feel shorter than they should. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty mean the only limit is how far you choose to ride.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 50mm profile saves about 4.5W versus a 35mm rim at 40km/h; at 10° yaw side-force is moderate, and the 45R gives up about 1.5W of aero for noticeably calmer crosswind handling.
Weight vs Stiffness: T1000 with foil carbon spokes reaches 1230g, about 120g lighter than a steel-spoke 50mm disc build (±5g), lateral stiffness within 3%; the ceramic bearings save about 1.5W of friction versus the Enduro-steel PRM 50R.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bed accepts clincher and tubeless from 28c to 50c; the 21/24/26mm internal options favour 28–32c road at 70–85 PSI, and hookless-rated tyres cap around 72 PSI.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock builds ship in 1–3 business days at $999; custom decals or lacing add 7–15 business days and roughly a $100–150 premium.
Config Ladder: This set already runs ceramic bearings and foil carbon spokes; the main ladder is the internal width (21→26mm, about +5g for wider gravel volume) and the hub (BL 240 → DT Swiss 240 for global serviceability, roughly +$200 and +5 days).

Recommended Use Cases
Road Racing: 2026 peloton standard runs 28-30mm tubeless on wide rims (TdF 2026 average ≈30mm); this 50mm section suits 40+ km/h racing and flat-to-rolling stages.
Gran Fondo / Endurance: All-day rides on modern frames designed around 30-32mm tyre clearance (Giant Propel, Cannondale SuperSix, Cervélo S5, 2026); wide 21mm bed pairs 25-32mm tubeless for comfort and speed.
Training & Daily Riding: Mid-depth versatility for group rides and race-pace training; ETRTO 2026 guidance recommends ≥28mm tubeless on 23mm+ inner beds for rolling efficiency.

FAQ
Can a damaged carbon spoke be replaced at a local bike shop?
Yes. The spokes use a mechanical two-piece lock-up design (not a bonded one-piece), and spare carbon spokes ship free with the wheelset. Any shop mechanic with a standard truing stand can swap a single spoke in about 10 minutes - no factory return needed.
Will carbon spokes snap suddenly in crosswinds or under lateral load?
Carbon spokes deliver ~3,800N tensile strength (above the ~3,000N of top steel spokes) with ~30% higher lateral stiffness. Potholes, sprinting out of the saddle and everyday riding carry no metal-fatigue fracture risk.
How does this 50mm deep rim handle crosswinds on fast descents?
An optimised 50mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 21mm bed run 28mm road at 70-80 PSI; on the 24-26mm bed run gravel at 40-60 PSI. Tubeless allows lower pressures. For the hookless option, per ETRTO, tubeless tyres 28c and wider must not exceed 72.5 PSI (5.0 bar) to prevent unseating.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP - duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
