The Bola ST 50C is a 50mm T1000 UD carbon tubeless rim-brake wheelset on DT Swiss 350S hubs, for endurance road riders on traditional frames.

Head out for a long weekend ride or turn weekday training into a smoother, faster experience: the Bola ST 50C pairs a 50mm rim with light weight and tubeless readiness, built for endurance and everyday road riding.

Buying Guide.

Internal width - 17mm: 25-28c at 85-105 PSI for smooth tarmac.

Internal width - 21mm: 28-30c at 80-95 PSI for rougher chipseal endurance miles.

Max rider weight: rated to 110kg - check rider plus gear; rim-brake QR frames only.

Same-depth series: the EXP 50C (~$1111) upgrades to a DT Swiss 240S hub above; the ST 50C is the endurance-minded rim-brake middle at the same depth.

Adjacent depth: the SL 38RB (~$860) is the shallower tubular race option - choose the 50C for aero on flats, the 38RB for cornering punch.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

For endurance and all-around road riders on rim-brake frames.

Max system weight 110kg; rim-brake road frame with QR dropouts required; use carbon-specific brake pads.

Not for off-road, gravel or heavy touring.

The Ride That Awaits.

Settle onto the hoods for the long ride and the aero rim holds the open drag without asking much in return; the machined track modulates every descent, the tubeless tires keep the miles quiet. Weekday training becomes something you look forward to. Free shipping and a 3-year rim / 2-year wheelset warranty make it the calmest upgrade you can order.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 50mm depth saves about 4.0W versus a 35mm rim at 40km/h; at 10 degrees of yaw it feels the gusts, and the carbon braking surface adds material versus a disc equivalent.
Weight vs Stiffness: The T1000 layup saves about 45g versus a T800 build at 50mm (plus or minus 5g); the rim-brake track adds roughly 30g over a disc build and lateral stiffness stays within 4%.
Tire-Type Trade-off: Tubeless clincher on the 17-21mm bed runs 25-28mm tyres and lets you lower pressure, but sealant needs topping up and sustained braking builds heat in the rim.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Built to order, processing takes 7-15 business days; at about $860 it is roughly one-third the price of comparable 50mm rim-brake wheels near $1,200-1,300.
Config Ladder: The DT Swiss 350S steel hub is standard; the EXP 50C upgrades to a DT Swiss 240S ceramic hub for about +$250 and cuts about 1.5W of friction; Sapim CX-Ray spokes stay fixed.

Recommended Use Cases
Road Racing Builds: 2026 peloton standard is 28-30mm tubeless on wide rims (TdF 2026 avg ≈30mm); 50mm section suits 40+ km/h racing.
Gran Fondo / Endurance: Modern 2026 frames (Propel, SuperSix, S5) design around 30-32mm clearance; 21mm inner bed pairs 25-32mm tubeless per ETRTO 2026 guidance.
Wheel Building: Custom road builds with disc or rim hubs; UD carbon layup options for weight-conscious or durable builds.
Weight Tier Selection: Offered in weight tiers (110kg); lighter for climbing, heavier for training and impact margin.
Compatibility
Brake Standard: Rim brake, machined carbon track (carbon-specific pads required)
Axle: Quick release front / rear
Freehub: Shimano HG (select at checkout)
Tire: Tubeless-ready clincher, 25-30c
Frame: Traditional rim-brake road frame with QR dropouts

FAQ
How does the carbon brake track handle heat on long descents?
Carbon brake tracks run cooler and hold braking performance better than alloy rims under sustained braking, so long alpine descents stay consistent. Use carbon-specific brake pads to protect the track — alloy-rim pads can glaze the surface.
How does this 50mm deep rim handle crosswinds on fast descents?
An optimised 50mm profile keeps steering torque predictable at 10°–15° yaw, so high-speed descents stay planted.
Do these rims accept standard clincher tyres, and what is the pressure limit on hookless?
Hooked rims fit standard clincher tyres directly, with or without tubes. For hookless rims, per ETRTO, tubeless tyres 28c and wider must not exceed 72.5 PSI (5.0 bar) to prevent unseating.
Which tyres should I run, and at what pressure?
On the 17-21mm bed run 25-28mm at 85-105 PSI; up to 30mm at 80-95 PSI for chipseal. Tubeless ready allows lower pressures.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
