A 45mm asymmetric gravel carbon rim with 36/30mm widths, tubeless-ready bed, and four verified weight tiers for gravel racing and all-road riding.

Built for Mixed Surfaces

The BOLA 45mm gravel rim pairs a deep 45mm profile with a 30mm inner width to support 35–48mm tubeless gravel tires. Its asymmetric offset balances spoke tension on rear wheels for long-term durability under varied gravel loads.

Buying Guide.

Weight tier - Extreme Light ~380g: for gravel race day, pure speed over smooth dust.

Weight tier - Ultralight ~400g: the race-day balance.

Weight tier - Superlight ~430g: all-day gravel and rough roads, livelier than the durable tier.

Weight tier - Standard ~455g: bikepacking and punishing courses that demand impact margin over grams.

Internal width - 30mm: a wide bed for 35-48mm gravel tires at low pressure; it is the comfort-and-traction choice, not a narrow road rim.

Adjacent depth - the shallower Bola gravel rims are calmer in crosswinds; this section leans aero for fast gravel.

Target Audience & Usage Notes.

Gravel racers, bikepackers, gran fondo riders and all-road builders.

Not for aggressive trail riding or mountain biking.

The Ride That Awaits.

Let the gravel spit and fly - the wide bed cups your 35-48mm rubber at low pressure, the offset wheel staying true lap after lap as rocks flick past and the dust settles behind. It takes the punishment so your hands do not have to. Free shipping and a 3-year warranty with crash cover mean you can point it at any adventure and ride.

Trade-offs & Considerations
Aero vs Crosswind: The 45mm depth saves about 4.0W versus a 35mm rim at 40km/h, which pays off on fast gravel and tarmac sectors; at 10° yaw the deeper section has a stronger crosswind signature than a 30mm gravel rim, so it favours exposed open terrain over twisty tight singletrack.
Weight vs Stiffness: The lightest 380g layup saves about 75g versus the 455g option at the same 45mm depth (±5g); the offset bed balances spoke tension and lateral stiffness holds within 5% across the layup range.
Tire-Type Trade-off: The hooked bead accepts 40-50c gravel clincher and tubeless tyres at 30-50 psi; tubeless cuts rolling resistance and pinch-flat risk but needs tape, valve and sealant to seal the bed.
Sourcing & Delivery Trade-off: Stock drilling ships in 1-3 business days at $320; a custom spoke-hole count or decals add 7-15 business days and a roughly $40-80 premium.

FAQ
Do I get a bare rim here, or is it built up with a hub and spokes?
It's a bare carbon rim — no hub, spokes or nipples. Take it to any wheel builder to lace it to your own hub; we can also supply a built wheel on request.
Does the listed ERD already account for nipple washers — how do I get my spoke length right the first time?
The ERD is 548mm, measured on our standard basis. Use a known calculator (Sapim / DT Swiss) and add the manufacturer-recommended correction for this rim, so your wheel builder trues it the first time.
What spoke tension can I safely build to — will the holes pull out of the carbon?
Drive-side / disc-side maximum tension is 130–140 kgf, with the non-drive side adapted to match; the spoke holes are locally reinforced inside the carbon layup to prevent pull-out cracking.
Will the rim crack on rock gardens or bottom-outs at low pressure?
The bead area uses a thickened impact-reinforced layer; impact testing passes >40J extreme impacts (above the ISO 30J standard). Inner widths of 30mm accept wider tyres, which deform to absorb shock at low pressure.
Will I really pay no customs or VAT for delivery to the US and EU?
Yes. The Economy channel ships DDP — duties and VAT are fully prepaid by us, cleared in advance, and delivered to your door with no extra payment to customs or the courier.
